MC Meeting Minutes Tuesday May 22, 2007

• Departure from Management Committee Meeting resolved to accept Nick Penty's resignation from the MC in accordance with Rule 79. Nick stood in until Elmarie returned from holidays.

Membership

The list of new members is now being circulated to MC by e-mail prior to the meeting.

That the forfeiture of 37 members be accepted. Moved: Elmarie Seconded: Paula CARRIED
• The list of new members provided by Sarah had sales figures next to each member. Rick thinks it not appropriate nor necessary for MC to be privy to individual's purchases. Sarah finds the sales figures interesting and would like to leave them on. Rick suggests that if there is interest in this info, we provide two lists, one with new member names and numbers, another with purchases not coupled with individuals. Stevie mentioned that the issue of confidentiality had been raised in the past. MC to resolve at the June meeting.

TREASURER – Paula
• Report tabled. Profit made for each of the last two months.

MANAGER – Sarah
• Report tabled. Highlights:
• Further discussions re mural, Sarah presented some options. Possibly discuss design at June MC meeting. Sarah to liaise with Rick prior to meeting.
• Options for blind/awning behind till discussed.
• EFTPOS
That AH agree to pass on the appropriate financial institution charges for all credit, debit and EFTPOS transactions as from July 1, 2007. That mention of the policy change be included in the June eNews. CARRIED

STOCK (Fruit+veg) – David
• Report tabled.

STOCK (Groceries)
• No report. Lisa on leave.

PRODUCTS FORUM MEETING
A members' survey developed by Elmarie was distributed and discussed. Rick suggested a similar survey or focus group of ex-shoppers.

Current Matters

MANAGER RESIGNATION
• Elmarie will collate job description and advertisement and coordinate with Rick.
• Lara suggested discussing manager job description with staff. Meeting agreed.
• Vivienne suggests we advertise at other co-ops, universities etc. Meeting agreed.

E-NEWS
• Rick and Stevie to meet to discuss process. Rick to then present position paper.

STAINLESS STEEL BENCH FOR STOREROOM
• A friend of David's brother may be able to build one for free. David to follow up.

BACK GATE
• Fixed.

FOOD GRANT PROCESS
• Lara tabled draft policy paper. MC to review and provide feedback. MC thanked Lara for both the suggestion and the work.

Correspondence
• Note from Wendy Dyson Wendy was somewhat dissatisfied with AH's support for her grant application. Rick has discussed this with Wendy.

General Business
• Manly Food Co-op no longer provides a reciprocal discount as AH does not require members to work to be eligible for the basic discount. Sarah will ring; Vivienne will drop in.
• Co-op Festival Sarah is exploring some options for AH to participate in or organise a
festival.
• World Environment Day Note from Sarah tabled.
• National Vegetarian Week Meeting feels that this is not something AH wants to be involved with, as (inter alia) Sanatarium is a sponsor. Vivienne wondered if it was an
opportunity to communicate AH principles, and that we must be wary of elitist attitudes.
• Composting Awareness Week Sarah to find out more.
• Sunday Revolution affinity group Lara tabled some background information and discussed a collective developing a radical map of Sydney progressive groups. AH expressed support for the idea and Lara will send e-mail for distribution.
• Member/Supplier discount Sarah tabled a proposal for AH members who are making product for sale in the shop to receive a significant discount for ingredients. MC to discuss at June meeting.
