Our groceries staff is excited about our supply of TIELKA TEAS right now. The supplier, Tielka, is a small, Melbourne wholesale tea merchant company specialising in fresh, beautiful, ethical and eco-friendly tea. Tielka is the proud producer of Australia’s first certified Fairtrade, organic loose leaf tea collection. We are ecstatic about having them in the CO-OP.
Sunningdale Farms, who we get our biodynamic flaxseed oil and brown linseeds from, have unfortunately lost the entire brown linseed crop this year due to the flooding in Victoria. The flooding severely damaged the crop and its not of a high enough standard for human consumption. This means when current stocks run out we won't be able to get anymore from them until about February 2012. Its a situation beyond their control. In the meantime we are looking for alternative sources. Read our world of groceries

For those of you biting your nails, waiting for more information on the sale of the building and how its going to effect the Alfalfa House, you're just going to have to wait longer! Unfortunately we have no new information in regards to signing a new lease, or what the sale of 113 Enmore means for us. We will absolutely let you know as soon as we have any information. Until then we are keeping our options open, looking at other buildings in the area that are up for lease. We have every intention of staying in the neighborhood, and continuing our role as the community food coop.
Every month the Alfalfa House offers a community food grant(LINK) of $100 dollars in store credit to groups in the area who support Alfalfa's goals and mission in their own way. Some months surprisingly go by with no applicants. If your activist group is having a meeting and you need food for it, if your annual retreat is coming up, if you are looking to start something fresh and need a little help getting started, please click on the link, fill out the application and we'll try and help!
